Magnetic stripe card

Cards are mainly divided into magnetic stripe cards and chip cards. Magnetic stripe cards use magnetic materials to record information. Magnetic stripe cards usually have black strips on the back of the card, such as supermarket point membership cards. The main advantages of magnetic stripe cards are their low cost and ease of use. However, magnetic stripe cards also have the disadvantages of being easily worn and disturbed by other magnetic fields, resulting in degaussing and thus being unusable.

The storage medium of the magnetic stripe card is composed of a layer of magnetic material, which is bonded to the base of the card. When the information is to be recorded on the bank card, the magnetic stripe of the bank card is in contact with the recording head, and the magnetic stripe is connected to the recording head. Moving at a certain speed, the information to be recorded is applied to the coil of the recording head in the form of current. Under the action of the current, the magnetic material will leave a magnetization corresponding to the change of the current, thereby storing the data on the card. On the contrary, when the card reader reads the magnetic stripe card, different magnetization amounts in the magnetic material will generate different induced voltages in the card reader, and finally output the recorded information. Therefore, in daily use, the magnetic card should be kept away from magnets or strong magnetic fields as much as possible. External strong magnetic fields will change the residual magnetism of the magnetic material, magnetize the magnetic stripe card, and cause information loss.

High magnetic (HICO) cards are coded at a strength of 2750 or 4000 Oersteds; while low magnetic (LOCO) cards are coded at a strength of 300 or 650 Oersteds

Among them, the low magnetic resistance is 300oe, and the high magnetic resistance is 2750oe. Low magnetic resistance cards are ordinary magnetic stripes, while high The anti-magnetic stripe card is to strengthen the magnetic stripe card. The performance of the high-anti-magnetic-stripe card is better than that of the low-anti-magnetic-stripe card, and the use time is longer, it is more difficult to demagnetize, and it is durable. The way to use it is the same.

Magnetic stripe cards are generally used as identification cards, which can write, store, and rewrite information content. They are characterized by strong reliability, high data density, low misreading rate, and fast information input and read speed. Because the information reading and writing of magnetic cards is relatively simple and easy, easy to use, and low in cost, it has been developed earlier and entered many application fields.

The magnetic stripe of the magnetic stripe card is divided into three tracks.

The data of the low magnetic stripe card can only be written in the second track, which is commonly known as "single two tracks", and the first and third tracks cannot write data.

The high resistance magnetic stripe card is different, and data can be written to all three tracks. Moreover, the writing of track data is also different. Let me explain the writing data of track data.

The first track can write letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, a total of 79 data can be written

The second track can only write numbers 0-9, a total of 40 data can be written

The third track can only write data 0-9, a total of 107 data can be written.

According to the ISO7811/2 standard, the first track can store 76 alphanumeric characters and is read-only after being written to the magnetic for the first time; the second track can store 37 numeric characters and is also read-only; the third track can store 37 numeric characters and is also read-only; The magnetic track can store 104 digital characters, which are readable and writable. The bank card is used to record information such as book balance. The positions of the three magnetic tracks on the card are strictly regulated in the international standard ISO007811/5.

It is also worth mentioning that if the magnetic stripe card needs to write letters, it can only be written on the first track, which belongs to the category of high magnetic stripe card. When swiping the card, use a general low magnetic stripe card reader It cannot read the letters, because the low-resistance magnetic stripe card reader (ordinary card reader) cannot read the data of the first track, so it is necessary to use a high-resistance magnetic stripe card reader to read the magnetic stripe card reader. Data in the card

In the past, magnetic stripe cards were mainly used to make credit cards, bank cards, subway cards, bus cards, ticket cards, telephone cards; electronic game cards, train tickets, air tickets and various transportation charge cards. Now we use magnetic cards in many occasions, such as dining in canteens, shopping in malls, taking buses, making phone calls, entering restricted areas, etc.
