Introduction to ID Card
The full name of the ID card is the Identification Card, which is a non-writable proximity card with a fixed number. Like the magnetic card, the ID card only uses the card number. Except for the card number, the card does not have any security function. The card number is public and exposed. So the ID card is an inductive magnetic card.
The specifications of the ISO standard ID card are: 85.5 times 54 times 0.80 times 0.04mm (height/width/thickness). There are also some thick, thin cards or special-shaped cards on the market. The system consists of an ID card and a background controller.
ID card is also called a radio frequency ID card, the frequency is generally 125KHz. Nowadays, the market adopts a passive ID card with a unique serial number. The manufacturer has solidified the serial number before the product leaves the factory and cannot be changed. Its working principle is that there is a loop coil on the card, and the coil is connected to the IC to form a resonant circuit, the frequency of which is the same as the transmit frequency of the read and write. The reader sends electromagnetic waves to make the resonant circuit of the ID card resonate and generate a current to act on the ID chip. This is the reading and writing principle of the ID card.

ID cards can be distinguished by thickness
- Thick cards: thickness 1.8mm, thick cards can be sprayed with ID card numbers in various formats, can be screen printed, and can be additionally printed with self-adhesive stickers or color-printed transparent films and then affixed. Very low cost, it is the most economical radio frequency ID card in the world.
- Standard thick and thin card: thickness 1.05mm, can double-sided color offset printing, print photos, can laser or jet print various formats of ID card internal code or self-compiled serial number.
- Standard thin card: thickness 0.8mm, double-sided color offset printing, photo printing, laser or jet printing ID card internal code or self-editing serial number in various formats.
